The Ballos restaurant is located in Vourni beach, just 5 minutes from Kionia. The picturesque bay and the cape Ballos gave its name to the restaurant which is just a few meters from the sea.
The beach, under the chapel of Aghia Thalassini, is ideal for swimming with its clean, clear waters. Ballos offers free sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, a changing room, parking while serving refreshments, snacks and dishes with a variety of local products.
After our swim, Fotis, the owner and chef of Ballos, is welcoming us in the minimal restaurant he created, focusing on the Aegean aesthetics with the dominant colors being those of white and blue. He uses local ingredients and typical Tinian recipes (Froutalia, Tinian grilled sausage, Tinos spaghetti, Louza, Tinian cheeses, etc.) and inspired dishes such as barley rusks “Dakakia” with cheese flavored with ouzo, the beetroot “cake” and the roast squid with pesto. Ask Fotis for the fresh fish of the day or combine your Ouzo with the wide variety of seafood dishes (filets of sardines with lemon, shrimp spaghetti, marinara, etc.). All this, while enjoying the marvelous sea view!
You’ll find it open from Easter to end of October. The kitchen is open from 10:00 until 23:00.
